String Figure Candle

Inspired by our Fairly Safely Venture exhibition of traditional string figure diagrams, these limited edition candles have been carefully designed and handmade in Los Angeles by Lucky Star Candle in collaboration with the Museum of Jurassic Technology. Each hemp candle wick is dipped in organic beeswax and woven by hand. Every candle comes in a gift box accompanied by a packet of string and an instructional booklet on how to make the corresponding string figure. 

Measurements:

The Jacob's Ladder Candle (vertical) measures approximately 11" tall with a base that is 2.5" wide, and is freestanding. The Fly-River Turtle Candle  (horizontal) measures approximately 4" x 5.5" and can be hung on the wall or burned in incense sand or atop a special cake. 

Care Instructions:

Handle with care, and keep out of direct sunlight. These candles serve as wonderful decorative or ritual objects and can be hung as talismans on walls adorning the home or sit atop a shelf or mantle. If there is a desire to light them, please do so under a watchful eye and in a safe environment. The Fly-River Turtle Candle can burn standing in incense sand or in a cake, and the Jacob's Ladder Candle is freestanding and can be burned on a saucer atop any surface. When lit, these candles are best enjoyed as a spectacle-- never leave them to burn unsupervised.
