This image of the Museum’s Tula Tea Room is one from a series of highly detailed graphite drawings by architect and author Mark Primack. Most of the drawings in this series are based on found images—often from antique postcards—of sites and subjects that support Mark’s theoretical work. They are drawn freehand, without grids or other graphic aids, working from right to left.
Unlike others in the series, Mark’s drawing of the tea room is taken from a photographic panorama he created in 2010. The drawing is reproduced here as a metallic duotone, alluding to the original graphite surface, at original scale.
Print comes packaged in a protective plastic sleeve with an 11 x 14-inch dark ash mat and archival backing board.
