These silver, stainless steel rulers are created in collaboration with Los Angeles artist and NASA engineer Rishi Verma to commemorate the Museum's latest exhibition, A Veiled Gazelle: Intimations of the Infinite and Eternal. The rulers feature a ten-fold Mamluk pattern designed using traditional drafting techniques. Learn more about Rishi at tzl8.com. The rulers measure 6 inches on one side and 15 centimeters on the other, and feature a smooth and sturdy edge to assist with any drafting work. The back of the ruler is embossed with an excerpt of Gentle Now Doves from Muhyi al-Din Ibn ‘Arabi’s early 13th century collection of poems Tarjumān al- ashwāq (“Translator of Desires”), written both in English and in the original Arabic.
