The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Information is very pleased to announce an evening of music from the wilds of northern Greece performed by Dromeno.

ΔΡΩΜΕΝΟ - a cultural event or ritual

Dromeno is a traditional ensemble presenting authentic regional music from the Greek mainland and beyond, overlapping into the surrounding regions and finding the musical legacy that connects the traditions of the Balkans. Featuring clarinet and voices, the instrumentation also includes accordion, laouto and percussion. This concert showcases the music of Epiros, Thessaly, and Macedonia with soulful vocal harmonies and meditative improvised solos. The musicians comprise the husband and wife team, Christos Govetas and Ruth Hunter, along with their daughter, Eleni Govetas, son, Bobby Govetas, and laouto and guitar player, Nikos Maroussis.
