'We Amnesiacs All' Mug
This handsome ceramic mug depicts, on one side, an intersecting plane and cone floating before the Argentinian Iguazu Falls, to mark memory researcher Geoffery Sonnabend's three-volume exegesis of his theory of memory, Obliscence: Theories of Forgetting and the Problem of Matter.
The text on the opposite side reads, from Proust: We, amnesiacs all, condemned to live in an eternally fleeting present, have created the most elaborate of human constructions, memory, to buffer ourselves against the intolerable knowledge of the irreversible passage of time and the irretrievability of its moments and events.
Kindly hand wash our China and refrain from using in the microwave. Mug measures approximately 4-inches high, with a rim diameter of 2.75-inches.
