Argenta Walther is a dedicated singer of music from the sacred medieval to the modern experimental,living and working in Los Angeles. She performs at some of the city's best-loved venues, including the blue whale, REDCAT, Automata, Saint John's Cathedral and the Museum of Jurassic Technology. Argenta is a frequent guest artist with both new and early music groups including Bach Collegium San Diego, People Inside Electronics, and Southland Ensemble.  She is a founder of the contemporary vocal group Accordant Commons, and is one of the directing members of Ensemble Vocatrix, a group dedicated to the music of Hildegard von Bingen. 

 

Cory Beers is a drummer and percussionist who in addition to the cimbalom, specializes in North Indian tabla and Macedonian davul.  However, Cory is equally at home with many other percussion instruments and is fluent in a wide array of musical styles.  Cory earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in percussion performance from the California Institute of the Arts, where he studied contemporary Western percussion as well as the traditional music of North India, Bali, Java and West Africa.  He also attended the Conservatory of Music in Chișinău, Moldava  studying cimbalom performance.  Cory frequently performs with diverse groups such as Falsetto Teeth, Taraful Usturoi, the Petrojvic Blasting Company and Eighteen Squared.  He also composes for and plays with his percussion ensemble BoorBaar, a group known for its unusually complex and inventive percussion music.

 

Karina Kallas is an exceptionally versatile Los Angeles soprano defined by her diverse experience and training in the arts. She received her musical instruction from Occidental College (BA), California Institute of the Arts (MFA), and the University of Southern California (PhD candidate) where she studied a variety of musical genres including modern, avante-garde, opera, chant, classical, and baroque vocal styles. Her diverse training has allowed her to move regularly between the modern and early music worlds, as exemplified by appearances at the Berkeley Early Music Festival, the Boston Early Music Festival, the Los Angeles Festival of Microtonal Music and the RedCat Theater at Disney Hall with Meredith Monk. She has performed in numerous operas such as Giasone (Hypsipile), Dido and Aeneas (Belinda), The Magic Flute (Papagena), and in the U.S. premiere of R. Murray Schafer's Loving in the leading role of Love.
