About Our Store

The affairs of the Museum of Jurassic Technology Gift Shop are conducted under the careful supervision of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Information, as well as the trustees of the Museum itself. Every publication and commemorative object is chosen for its potential to further the Museum's greater mandate of leading the learner "... from familiar objects toward the unfamiliar, guided along as it were, a chain of flowers, into the mysteries of life."

Many of our items are produced by and for the Museum only, and the quality of Museum reproductions and adaptations is an overriding concern. Many years is not an uncommon span for the development of a single object, and the satisfaction of friends and members of the Museum who purchase from us is unconditionally guaranteed. Proceeds, as always, are used entirely in support of the Museum and its programs.

The Museum of Jurassic Technology Gift Shop is located at the entrance to the Museum at

9341 Venice Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232.

The Gift Shop is open during the Museum's regular operating hours:

Thursday/Friday from 2pm to 8pm and Saturday/Sunday from noon to 6pm, as well as by appointment.

Visitors need not purchase admission to patronize the Gift Shop. All items featured in our Online Store, plus many others not pictured here, can also be found in our physical store.

 

Membership Discounts

Current members of the Museum receive a 10% discount on most Gift Shop purchases. To apply the discount by enter the code received via member welcome letter or email on the checkout page. Please see our Membership page for more information, or contact us with any questions. Please note that sale items, memberships, museum passes, donations, gift certificates, and shipping fees are not eligible for a discount.

We accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express. We also offer checkout through PayPal.

 

Gift Certificates

The Museum of Jurassic Technology is pleased to offer gift certificates in any denomination, for use at both our physical and online gift shops. To redeem a gift certificate online, please type your gift certificate number in the "Order Notes" section at checkout. Due to the constraints of our web site, we are unable to apply your certificate balance until after the checkout process. This means that even if your certificate covers your entire purchase, you will still need to enter a credit card number, and your card will be automatically authorized (but not charged) for the total amount of your order. Please be assured that we will only process your payment if your gift certificate does not cover your total purchase -- and only for the balance remaining.

 

Sales Tax

Residents of California will be charged state and county sales tax on eligible items. Memberships, admissions, and donations are not taxed, and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

 

Returns & Exchanges

All merchandise purchased in the Museum Gift Shop or through the Online Store is eligible for exchange or refund provided that the item(s) are in unused condition and there is an accompanying receipt of purchase. Please note that memberships and donations are not eligible for returns, and concert tickets are subject to certain restrictions (see below).

 

Event Policies

All event reservations are will-call, and no tickets will be mailed to you. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the event begins to ensure seating. Due to the unique restrictions of the space, we may not be able to seat latecomers once the performance or lecture has started.

Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance of the performance to qualify for a refund. Please contact events@mjt.org with any inquiries.
