The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Information is very pleased to announce an evening of Baroque music informed by birds and their songs performed on hurdy gurdy, bagpipe, recorder, and guitar by Curtis Berak, Bruce Teter, and Jason Yoshida.

Les Plaisirs Champêtres presents "Bird Music" for hurdy gurdy (vielle à roue), court bagpipe (musette de cour), recorders, and Baroque guitar. Flocks of nightingales, coucous, rossignols, and more chirp through Baroque music composed by Vivaldi, Couperin, Chedeville, and many others. Curtis Berak, Bruce Teter, and Jason Yoshida fill the Museum's rooftop aviary with music inspired by birds.  Recorders and the flageolet training birds to sing from The Bird Fanciers Delight, along with Athanasius Kircher's bird song transcriptions, and a bird automaton. The technological wonders of the complicated vielle à roue and musette de cour will fascinate.
